Who would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?
I know the last person I would pick would be my brother! Although he has a plethora of knowledge that I feel like would be useful in that situation, it could end two ways: we would get off the island in less than 24 hours, or we would kill each other.

What made you want to get into the acting career?
I think I always knew it was something I wanted to do. I remember watching Disney movies constantly on repeat since I was 6 years old and pretending I was sick so I could stay home from school to watch them. I very clearly remember wanting to become Mulan or Wednesday Addams from “The Addams Family.” It wasn’t until I began modeling at 8 that I realized acting was something I could do as a career.

How did it feel to get casted on the CW series spinoff of “The Originals” and “Vampire Dairies” “Legacies”?
I was so excited when I got the call! I had been auditioning for two weeks and it felt like an eternity of just waiting to hear. I’d also gotten so emotionally invested in the character and the project. I told my mom right away and celebrated with my manager and family. I may or may not have also re-watched the first season of The Vampire Diaries for the millionth time … you know … for character work.

Can you please tell us about your character Josie Saltzman on “Legacies”?
Josie is one of the kindest characters I have ever played. She is known around the school as the girl who is constantly cleaning up other people’s messes, specifically her twin sister’s. What a lot of people don’t realize about Josie is that she struggles with the same darkness that her sister, Lizzie, does. She just deals with her darkness in a very different way.

Did you watch Vampire Dairies or The Originals?
I started watching The Vampire Diaries when I was about 15 and fell in love. I got my mom into it, too, and it turned into our thing where we would make time once a week to sit down and watch an episode. It was surreal figuring out I was playing one of the twins when I had watched them as babies on the show. Every day I feel like a super fan that snuck onto set, and I’m constantly sending my mom behind-the-scenes photos.

What is one thing that you can’t live without right now?
I can’t live without FaceTime! “Legacies” is shot in Atlanta, so I’m constantly FaceTiming my dogs or my family and friends.

Bright room or dark room and why?
Bright room! I’m claustrophobic, so I love being in bright, open spaces. My dressing room on set has no windows, so I’ve strung bistro lights and got a bean bag chair just to make it feel more like home and less like small holding quarters.

What is one thing that brings a smile to your face, no matter the time of day?
I actually have a video saved on my phone of one of my best friends trying to make a Snapchat video and almost getting stung by a bee. It sounds dumb, but it honestly always make me laugh.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Nurturing, independent and, according to my castmate Quincy Foust, powerful.

If you could a full 24 hours without any work or obligations, a day to just do whatever you wanted, what would you do?

I would spend the day with my family! The majority of my family lives in Hawaii, so if I could magically transport over there to see my family and eat their cooking I would be on Cloud 9.

If you had the option to hit restart and begin life all over again, would you?
Never! I’m constantly amazed at how lucky I am to have the life I live with the opportunities that I have had. Also, I’ve seen “Back to the Future,” so I know not to mess with things.

Have you ever done or accomplished something you never thought you could? What was it?
I always go into to every situation with the assumption that I can accomplish what I’ve set out to do. I think it’s a healthier mindset for any situation in life. It’s really easy to get out of situations by saying you can’t, but I’ve realized some of the best things that have happened in my life were just from saying I could and then doing it.
