PAUL WESLEY REGISSEERT DE AFLEVERING WAAR STEFAN EEN ONVERWACHT OFFER MOET BRENGEN — Wanneer haar kinderen de focus worden van de Siren’s laatste plannen neemt Caroline drastische maatregelen om ervoor te zorgen dat haar familie veilig is. In een race tegen de klok belooft Stefan om alles te doen om de tweeling veilig te houden. De spanningen tussen Caroline en Alaric lopen op en komen ze tot pijnlijke conclusies over de toekomst van hun gezin. Intussen kan Enzo zich moeilijk verzetten tegen Sybill waardoor Stefan in zijn onderbewuste gaat en zet een serie gebeurtenissen in gang die hem dwingt tot een levens veranderende keuze.
