KLAUS MIKAELSON, THE ORIGINAL VAMPIERE/WEERWOLF HYBRID, KEERT TERUG NAAR NEW ORLEANS IN DE SPIN-OFF VAN DE “THE VAMPIRE DIARIES” — Klaus Mikaelson, de original vampier-weerwolf hybrid, is terug gekeerd naar de bovennatuurlijke smeltpot van het franse kwartier van New Orleans – de stad die hij heeft helpen opbloeien met zijn familie 300 jaar geleden. Vastberaden om zijn broer te helpen, laat Elijah zijn zus Rebekah achter in Mystic Fall om zijn broer achterna te gaan. Elijah komt erachter dat Hayley een prachtige en rebelse weerwolf – één van Klaus oude vlammen – in d handen is gevallen van een krachtige heks genaamd Sophie Deveraux. Wanneer Sophie nieuwe heeft voor Elijah dat het leven van zijn familie volledig kan veranderen en een tweede kans kan geven voor verlossing en menselijkheid. Klaus daar inteven is meer gefascineerd door de onverwachte ontmoeting die hij heeft mijn zijn voormalig protégé, Marcel, een charismatische maar duivelachtige vampier die de volledige controle heeft over de bovennatuurlijk inwoners van New Orleans. Klaus zweert dat hij terug claimt wat ooit van hem was. – de macht, de stad en zijn familie.

Marcel: What do you care about the witches?
Elijah: Well, that’s my business, now isn’t it?

Marcel: [to Elijah] Everything in the quarter is my business.

Marcel: [to Klaus] I’m not the prince of the quarter, friend. I’m the king. Show me some respect.

Sophie: If I have to hurt Hayley, or worse, to ensure that I have your attention, I will.
Elijah: You would dare threaten an original?
Sophie: I have nothing to lose.

Hayley: [to Elijah] Your dad was a dick. I’m Hayley by the way. You should probably know my name if you’re going to tell me your whole life story. I mean, I know yours. Your family is legendary. Your brother’s a notorious psycho. Who I slept with. Classic me.

Elijah: [to Sophie] I’m Elijah. You’ve heard of me?

Rebekah: I may be old, Elijah, but I’m hardly senile.

Elijah: Over the course of my long life, I have come to believe that we are bound forever to those with whom we share blood. And while we may not choose our family, that bond can be our greatest strength, or our deepest regret. This unfortunate truth has haunted me for as long as I can recall.
