EEN NACHT BIJ DE OPERA — Door een serie van flashbacks uit 1919, is Klaus openhartig naar Camille en onthult details van een verschrikkelijk geheim die Rebekah en Marcel van hem verborgen willen houden. Elijah vormt een onwaarschijnlijke bond met Monique en vraagt haar Sabine voor hem te vinden. Ergens anders staat Thierry niet te springen om Marcel en Rebekah te helpen met hun plan de heksen neer te halen. Intussen in de Bayou is Hayley ten einde raad en houd Sabine gevangen om informatie te krijgen ver het ongedaan maken van de weerwolven vloek op haar clan.

Elijah: I will always choose him.

Cami: Be a good little boy and get back into bed.
Klaus: If I had a quid for every time a woman tried that line on me…
Cami: You’d have, like, no money.
Klaus: Oh, I beg to differ. Some women actually find me quite charming.

Klaus: As you may have yet to realize, Cami, the line between what brings us pain and what sustains us is far thinner than one imagines.

Cami: Wow. Things I never thought I’d be doing. Feeding a vampire. My 16 year old self would think I’m really cool right now.

Hayley: Careful, Sabine, or Celeste, or whatever you like to call yourself. Sudden moves make me jumpy and homicidal.

Cami: Why am I here?
Elijah: Because of all the people who could be here, you’re probably the only one he wouldn’t immediately slaughter.
