PROBLEMEN BIJ HET ZWEM GAT — In een poging om meer plezier in hun leven te hebben haalt Elena Caroline over om mee te gaan naar een zwemfeest bij het meer in het bos, om zo Liam te ontmoeten. Tyler die steeds probeert zijn woedeaanvallen onder controle te houden, vraag Liv om een gunst en is verrast wanneer ze een onverwachte bekentenis doet. Stefan keert terug naar Mystic Fall om Enzo te vinden maar is overrompeld wanneer hij een vreemde verandering ziet in Elena. Intussen bij het meer zorgen Enzo’s acties ervoor dat Matt een ontstellend openbaring moet doen. En doet Jeremy een ontdekking voer de anti-magie spel op de stad die het leven van Elena in gevaar kan brengen. Damon en Bonnie hebben aanwijzingen gevonden waardoor ze vermoeden dat ze niet alleen zijn.
