ALICE EVANS IS TE ZIEN IN FLASHBACKS UIT DE JEUGD VAN DE FAMILIE MIKAELSONS EN SONJA SOHN IS TE ZIEN ALS DE NIEUWE HEKS LENORE — Wanneer Klaus en Elijah een cryptische uitnodiging krijgen om te gaan dineren met hun moeder Ester, die zich bevind in het lichaam van harvest-heks en tiener Cassie bereiden ze zich voor op het ergste. Met de hulp van Lenore proberen Klaus, Elijah en Hayley Ester één stap voor te zijn, maar zaken neem al snel een onverwachte wending. Terwijl Elijah met tegenzin een team vormt met de nieuwe vampier Gia krijgt Hayley te maken met een aanlokkelijk voorstel over haar status als Hybrid na een ontmoeting met Ester. Als laatste onthult Ester een schikkend geheim over Klaus zijn jeugd en onthuld ze haar ultieme plan voor haar kinderen.
