Riley’s nieuwste serie ‘Hightown’ is door zender Starz vernieuwd voor een tweede seizoen. Naar de serie kijken gemiddeld 1,5 miljoen mensen per aflevering, de series premiere zorgde voor een kijkersrecord voor de zender.

Crime drama “Hightown” has been renewed for a second season at Starz, the premium cabler announced Thursday.

The news comes after the series has aired just four episodes, with the first episode having aired on May 17. Per Starz, the series premiere set viewership records across Starz OTT platforms. In the Nielsen Live+7 ratings, the show is averaging 1.5 million viewers per episode.

“Hightown” is set on Cape Cod. It follows Jackie Quiñones (Monica Raymund), a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service agent, who has her free-wheeling life thrown into disarray when she discovers a body on the beach – another casualty of Cape Cod’s opioid epidemic. As a result of this trauma, Jackie takes the first steps toward becoming sober, until she becomes convinced that it’s up to her to solve the murder.

The series also stars James Badge Dale, Riley Voelkel, Shane Harper, Amaury Nolasco, Atkins Estimond, and Dohn Norwood.

“Hightown” was created and executive produced by Rebecca Cutter. Gary Lennon executive produces along with Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, and KristieAnne Reed from Jerry Bruckheimer TV. Ellen H. Schwartz also serves as executive producer. Rachel Morrison directed the first two episodes of the series. The series is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Lionsgate Television.

Er komt ook een Wizard World Virtual Experience voor ‘Legacies’!. Op 22 juni zullen Peyton Alex Smith (Rafael Waithe), Thomas Doherty (Sebastian), Ben Geurens (The Necromancer), Demetrius Bridges (Dorian Williams), Ben Levin (Jed) en Quincy Fouse (Milton ‘MG’ Greasley) deelnemen aan het online panel.

Riley Voelkel (Freya Mikaelson), Steven Krueger (Josh Rosza), Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol Mikaelson), Chase Coleman(Oliver), Yasmine Al-Bustami (Monique Deveraux) en Torrance Coombs (Declan) namen gisteren deel aan het ‘The Originals’ tijdens de Wizard World Virtual Experiences.

Op 7 juni zal er voor de Wizard World Virtual Experience ook een online panel komen voor ‘The Originals’!. Hieraan zullen Riley Voelkel (Freya Mikaelson), Steven Krueger (Josh Rosza), Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol Mikaelson), Chase Coleman(Oliver), Yasmine Al-Bustami (Monique Deveraux) and Torrance Coombs (Declan) deelnemen.

Het eerste seizoen van ‘Legacies’ zal op 10 juni op DVD verschijnen in Nederland. Hij kost €39,99 en is o.a. te bestellen op bol.com!

Phoebe heeft een zoom-reunië gehad met haar collega’s in de film ‘omorrow When The War Began’ uit 2010. Hierin werd o.a. verteld dat er plannen waren voor twee vervolgfilm maar dat de productiemaatschappij van de film hier niets mee deed.

De makers van de ‘Vampire Diaries’ gaan weer samenwerken, ditmaal om een andere boekenreeks ‘Forbidden Games’ van schrijfster L.J. Smith tot een televisie serie te maken. De boeken kwamen in 1994 uit.

The Vampire Diaries team is reuniting for a new horror fantasy series – The Forbidden Game.

Based on the trilogy of horror YA novels by LJ Smith, the new series is being adapted for Warner Bros. Television (WBTV). Smith is also the author of the Vampire Diaries books, which were adapted for The CW.

The series, which is now officially looking for a writer, is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden.

The official description for the series reads: “The Forbidden Game is a teen horror trilogy of novels in which a girl named Jenny and six friends enter a Jumanji-like game that drops them into different shadow worlds to fight off their worst nightmares, or die and have their souls forever imprisoned.

“The stakes are set by Julian, an enigmatic blue-eyed boy who moves freely between worlds. Jenny is determined to save herself and her friends, but when she starts to fall in love with Julian her loyalties are tested beyond anything she has ever experienced.”

Published in 1994, The Forbidden Game trilogy consists of the books The Hunter, The Chase and The Kill.

Zach is zondag 24 mei gearresteerd voor het rijden onder invloed van drank. Naar verluid werd hij aangehouden omdat hij voor geen kentekenplaat had, waarna politie constateerde dat hij gedronken had. Aankomende donderdag 4 juni komt hij voor de officier van justitie, zijn woordvoerder wilde niets loslaten over zijn arrestatie.

The Vampire Diaries star Zach Roerig has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), it has been reported.

People have a statement from the police department in Montpelier, Ohio that states he was arrested and charged at around 2.30am local time last Sunday (May 24).

The publication details that the “probable cause” of him being stopped was no front licence plate, and that DUI is the highest level of misdemeanour charge in the state.

He was released from custody on the condition he appear for an arraignment on June 4.

As well as his main role as Matt Donovan on The Vampire Diaries and its spin-offs The Originals and Legacies, Roerig has also appeared on As the World Turns, Friday Night Lights and the short-lived teen drama Dare Me, which was cancelled earlier this year after one season.

At the time of writing, neither Roerig or his representatives have publicly responded to the incident.

The second season of Legacies was one the shows interrupted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, meaning that the final four episodes of the season are currently uncompleted and unaired.

Sadly this includes the musical episode (season 2 episode 19) which would have been a look back at the entire franchise thus far. We are sure that it will air one day, but it’s a bit up in the air at the moment.
