The CW is bezig met het ontwikkelen van een nieuwe spin-off serie rondom Hope, de dochter van Klaus en Hayley. Naast Danielle Rose Russel die de rol van Hope op zich zal nemen zal ook Matt Davis is de serie te zien zijn. Het is nog niet bekend of de serie er definitief komt, tijdens de upfronts vorig jaar gaf de president van The CW al aan bezig te zijn met ideën voor een mogelijk spin-off.

De zender heeft momenteel veel nieuwe pilot-series op de plank liggen om aan hun programma toe te voegen, daarom hebben ze besloten om 6 dagen per week hun serie uit te gaan zenden, om hiervoor ruimte aan toe te voegen.

Na acht seizoenen stopte The Vampire Diaries en na het vijfde seizoen houdt ook spin-off The Originals ermee op. Maar niet getreurd, de Amerikaanse zender The CW werkt aan een vervolg.

De nu nog naamloze serie draait om Hope, de dochter van vampier Klaus Mikaelson en weerwolf Hayley Marshall-Kenner. Hope heeft naast haar vampier- en weerwolfgaves een beetje heks in zich. Deze heksendochter zal gespeeld worden door Danielle Rose Russel. Ook haar vriendin uit The Originals, die wordt gespeeld door Aria Shahghasemi, zal te zien zijn.

Matt Davis
Net als bij de eerste spin-off ontmoeten we een aantal nieuwe personages. Wie ze gaan spelen is nog niet bekend, maar Quincy Fouse, Jenny Boyd en Kaylee Bryant zijn al bevestigd als nieuwe acteurs. Daarnaast keert Matt Davis terug als Alaric Saltzman. Hij was zowel te zien in The Vampire Diaries als The Originals.

Pilot
The CW heeft al negen nieuwe series op de planning staan voor het tv-seizoen van 2018-2019. Voor de meeste series wordt een pilot, een soort eerste testaflevering, gemaakt; voor deze spin-off echter niet. Enkele van de nieuwe personages zullen geïntroduceerd worden in het laatste seizoen van The Originals, op basis van die scènes beslist The CW of de spin-off daadwerkelijk wordt uitgezonden. Als de nieuwe serie definitief doorgaat, verschijnt deze ergens tussen de herfst van 2018 en de zomer van 2019.

Het is bekend geworden dat Nina een rol heeft gescoort in de film ‘Departures’ in de rol van Izzy. Alhoewel nog niet geheel duidelijk is welke rol ze precies in de verhaallijn gaan, maar wordt al sinds 2015 aan het project gelinkt. In de film speelt “Game of Thrones” actrice Maisie Williams de rol van de terminaal zieken Skye die samen met haar vriend Calvin (gespeelt door Asa Butterfield) probeert alles van haar bucketlijst te doen voor ze doodgaat.

Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev is set to appear in “Departures,” an upcoming film that features “Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams and Asa Butterfield, who is known for playing the titular character in “Ender’s Game.” Dobrev is also set to appear in two other upcoming films, although their release dates are unknown.

Fergal Rock, an award-winning Irish screenwriter and filmmaker, wrote the script for “Departures,” a young adult drama film. The story features a teenage girl named Skye, played by Williams, who has a terminal illness. She enlists her friend Calvin, played by Butterfield, to help her fulfill a bucket list of things she wants to do before she dies.

Dobrev plays a character named Izzy, although it is unknown what role this character will play in the story. The actress has been attached to the film since it first made headlines in 2015, although at the time, the film was titled “Arrivals.”

It seems that Dobrev’s two other upcoming films, “Lucky Day” and “Dog Days,” offer some more details. “Lucky Day” particular is the first film directed by Roger Avary in 13 years. In 1995, Avary won an Academy Award for co-writing the film “Pulp Fiction” (1994) with Quentin Tarantino. However, in 2009, he was convicted of manslaughter and served eight months in prison. His last film as a director was “Glitterati,” which came out in 2004.

In “Lucky Day,” Dobrev plays a character named Chloe, the wife of the film’s protagonist, an ex-convict who is being hunted down by a serial killer. There is no official release date yet for the film, although it may possibly come out this year.

In the comedy “Dog Days,” meanwhile, Dobrev plays a character named Elizabeth. Elizabeth is the host of the television show “Good Day Seattle,” who depends on her pet to help her cope with stress in her life. “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens and “Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard also star in the film. “Dog Days” has no official release date yet, although the film is reportedly already in post-production.

Micheal Trevino is gecast in de nieuwe ‘Rosswell’ reboot op The CW, hierbij zal hij opnieuw samen werken met Julie Plec. De serie is gebaseerd op de boekenserie door Melinda Metz en gaat over een groep tieners in het plaatsje Roswell (New Mexico). Als tiener Liz Parker wordt neergeschoten in het ‘Crashdown Café’ waar ze werkt, heelt de mysterieuze Max Evans haar wond. Liz wordt verliefd op hem en ontdekt dat Max, zijn zus Isabel en hun vriend Michael in feite aliens zijn: de drie zijn de enige overlevenden van de beruchte ufo-crash in 1947. Liz, Max en hun vrienden proberen samen het verleden van de aliens te ontdekken.

Micheal zal de rol van Kyle Valenti op zich nemen, de zoon van de sherrif. Ook ‘Pretty Little Liars’ acteur Tyler Blackburg heeft een rol gescoort in de serie. Van 1999-2002 was de orignele tv serie te zien op TV.

EW has confirmed that Vampire Diaries star Michael Trevino has joined the cast of the CW’s upcoming Roswell reboot. The reboot, which comes from The Originals team of Carina Adly MacKenzie and Julie Plec, is based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz and follows Liz, the daughter of undocumented immigrants who returns to her hometown of Roswell, New Mexico. There, she discovers a secret about Max, her teenage crush. (Hint: He’s an alien.) Jeanine Mason has been cast in the role of Liz, with Originals star Nathan Parsons on board to play Max.

As for Trevino, he will play Kyle Valenti — played by Nick Wechsler in the original series — the son of the town sheriff. Trevino joins a cast that includes Pretty Little Liars star Tyler Blackburn as Sgt. Alex Manes, Lily Cowles as Isobel, Michael Vlamis as Michael, and Heather Hemmens as Maria.

Hoewel ze het een moeilijke beslissing vond om dit nieuws wel of niet te delen besloot ze dit wel te doen omdat ze het belangrijk vind dat er openlijk over gepraat kan worden. Daarnaast deelde ze ook een link naar een persoonlijke blog, dat sterk overeenkomt met haar eigen ervaringen en emotie rondom miskraam.

I took this photo 10 days ago, as I waited for surgery after my sweet little baby lost its heartbeat. I sent it to my fiancé in the waiting room to show him that I was ok. I wasn’t. I’ve never felt more broken in my life. I debated sharing this so soon and I’m still frightened about making such a private struggle public, but I’m doing it anyway because it’s important. After my D & C, I spent hours on the internet searching for women who had been through it. I was desperate to find someone, anyone, who could relate to what I was feeling.
