Het is bekend geworden dat Candice King haar rol van Caroline zal vertolken in het vijfde seizoen van ‘The Originals’. Opnames hiervoor zullen aanstaande maandag beginnen.

Klaus Mikaelson and Caroline Forbes-Salvatore may be crossing paths sooner than either of them expected.

Candice King will reprise her Vampire Diaries role on The Originals‘ fifth season premiere, TVLine has learned exclusively. Unfortunately, no further details about King’s appearance, slated to air sometime in 2018, are available.

To say that Caroline has a complicated history with the Mikaelsons would be an understatement. Following a tumultuous romance in Seasons 3 and 4 of The Vampire Diaries, Caroline and Klaus eventually reunited (albeit over the phone) in Season 7. A key moment in the show’s series finale involved Klaus gifting his old flame with a hefty donation for her and Alaric’s supernatural school.

At the time of the TVD finale, executive producer Julie Plec told TVLine that Klaus’ donation was a “wish, not a promise. … I think The Originals has the opportunity to visit with some of these characters, and I think there are future shows down the line that can be spawned out of this world and could tell good stories.” (Wish granted!)

The Mikaelsons are ready to say goodbye.

The Originals is set to end after season five, creator and showrunner Julie Plec announced on Twitter on Thursday, just ahead of the CW hit’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Season five is set to air in 2018.

The news of The Originals coming to an end comes just one year after The Vampire Diaries announced it was ending its eight-year run. The Originals premiered in 2013 as a spinoff series to TVD, starring fan-favorites Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies and Phoebe Tonkin.

“I’m packing my bags for Comic-Con, realizing it’s been a year since we announced the end of The Vampire Diaries,” Plec wrote. “It feels only fitting to use this anniversary to make a second farewell announcement: This year, we invite you to help us say goodbye to The Originals, which begins shooting its fifth and final season on Monday.”

She continued, “It’s both a gift and burden to be able to control the ending of a series. Many shows are not lucky enough to have a hand in deciding when the end has come. Being able to celebrate the completion of The Vampire Diaries was a joyful and deeply emotional ride, a luxury gifted by Mark Pedowitz at The CW and Peter Roth at WBTV, who, as TV fans themselves, knows what it means when a fan is able to say a true goodbye. Ending a show is always bittersweet, but for me, it’s a true blessing to be a part of making that choice.
I want each actor to play their last scene as their character, and to put their character to bed with grace and care. For each craftsman to take a final walk on the sets they built, the lights they’ve hung. To choose the final song or score the final scene. To turn out the lights at the end of the last day, knowing that they can take a moment to be proud of all that they’ve created, and to say goodbye before they walk out the door for the last time. And I want the fans to be able to go along on that ride with us.”

Plec finished her emotional note with a message to fans: “So please, join us at Comic-Con and as we move ahead with our final season of The Originals. Celebrate with us, cry with us, visit with us, watch us next spring when we air…and know that in a show about an immortal family who believes in “Always and Forever,” it’s never really the end of a story…With love, Julie.”

In its final season, Steven Krueger, who plays Josh, has been upped to a series regular, while TVLine reports that Candice King will reprise her Vampire Diaries role of Caroline in the premiere. (And the Klaroline fans go wild!)

Plus, Danielle Rose Russell, 17, is set to take over the role of Hope, Klaus (Morgan) and Hayley’s (Tonkin) daughter, after a massive time-jump.

The Originals’ fifth and final season will air in 2018 on The CW

The CW heeft laten weten dat het vijfde seizoen van ‘The Originals’ ook ditmaal uit 13 afleveringen zal bestaan. Het is nog niet bekend wanneer deze in première zal gaan, waarschijnlijk zal dit maart 2018 worden. De opnames staan namelijk gepland van 25 juli tot 20 december 2017 :)

Zach is later dit jaar te zien in de nieuwe film ‘The Year Of Spectacular Men’, deze ging afgelopen week in premiere op het LA Film Festival.

In a charming feature debut, established comedic actor Lea Thompson directs her real-life daughters Madelyn and Zoey Deutch, creating a palpable sense of intimacy in this story of connectedness and familial love.

Kat Graham is gecast in de nieuwe Netflix thriller ‘How It Ends’, opnames beginnen in juli in Winnipeg (Canada).

Kat Graham has joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming action thriller “How It Ends,” also starring Forest Whitaker and Theo James.

The film follows James as Will, a young man desperate to get home to his pregnant wife Samantha (Graham) after an apocalyptic event turns roads to mayhem. Forest Whitaker plays Tom, Samantha’s domineering father. Samantha, a loving wife, encourages Will to stand up to Tom, not realizing that later on they’ll have to work together to find her.

Graham is best known for her role as Bonnie Bennett in The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries,” and has also acted in “17 Again,” “The Roommate” with Leighton Meester, and “Honey 2.” She recently played Jada Pinkett in the Tupac Shakur biopic “All Eyez on Me.”

Graham also has a burgeoning singing career, with a new album “Love Music Funk Magic,” co-produced with Babyface. The lead single “Sometimes” is currently at #16 on the Billboard Dance Club Chart.

“How It Ends” is directed by David M. Rosenthal from a script by Brooks McLaren. The project is being produced by Paul Schiff, Tai Duncan, Kelly McCormick, and Patrick Newall, with executive production from Sierra’s Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg. Sierra/Affinity developed the project with Paul Schiff Productions and is handling worldwide sales and financing.

Netflix acquired worldwide rights in January. Production begins in July in Winnipeg.
