Ian en Joseph waren gisteren aanwezig op de 2015 Winter TCA Tour met o.a. producer Julie Plec. Hier praatte ze over hun series ‘The Vampire Diaries’ en ‘The Originals’ in een gezamelijk panel.

Er zijn nieuwe outtakes verschenen van eerdere fotoshoots met Joseph Morgan en Phoebe Tonkin. Daarnaast heeft Phoebe een fotoshoot gehad met Instyle, outtakes staan al in de galerij maar hopelijk binnenkort van betere kwaliteit.

Julie Plec heeft in een interview laten weten dat ze tijdens het schrijven van seizoen 2 al een perfect einde heeft bedacht voor ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Het toen bedachte idee moet hoogstwaarschijnlijk aan het einde van de serie wel op sommige punten moeten worden aangepast aan het verhaallijn, maar het idee blijft het zelfde….

Vampire Diaries showrunner Julie Plec dropped another little hint about The CW drama’s eventual ending.

She’s previously revealed that she and series creator Kevin Williamson came up with an ending for the show when working on season 2. Talking to critics at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour in Pasadena on Sunday, she elaborated a bit more on that final-episode plan when a reporter asked if the idea has changed over the years.

“Kevin and I came up with and then cried over our perfect ending,” said Plec, who will direct her first episode of the show this season. “And really stuck to that for many, many years and now the show has actually gone on, and will most likely go on a bit longer than we ever dreamt of. So [the ending has] evolved, but it’s still rooted in that same idea.”

“That could not have been more evasive!” said Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder

Also during the panel, Somerhalder and The Originals star Joseph Morgan were asked if their bad-boy characters are becoming less evil as they’ve become more central to each show.
“The last thing I just shot was him walking in with a bag of severed heads, so I don’t think he’s lost too much [of his evil ways],” Morgan said. “We do really terrible things for good reasons. Yes, he’s slightly less evil, but we can justify it.”

And Somerhalder, who is also directing an episode this season, noted: “People who have ill intent for righteous reasons are the ones we’re really afraid of.”

Another note from the panel: The Gemini Coven and Kai merging with Jo will be a big focus of the second half of Vampire Diaries this year, while Somerhalder noted it’s been great to see Damon and Elena happy—”Love trumps all,” he said.

Vampire Diaries is on its sixth season, Originals is on its second, and both are expected to easily get renewed for next fall.

Julie Plec heeft laten weten dat Steven R. McQueen die sinds het begin van de ‘The Vampire Diaries’ te zien is de serie zal verlaten. Vanaf aflevering 6×14 maakt hij geen deel meer uit van de vaste cast van de serie, ze sluit echter niet uit dat hij voor belangrijk gebeurtenissen zal terugkeren als gastrol.

Jeremy Gilbert will officially say goodbye to Mystic Falls.

The Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec reveals to EW that Steven R. McQueen will no longer be a series regular as of episode 14. Though Jeremy has left town before—and even died at one point—he really is leaving this time.

“It’s time for him to go out and live his life and we’re actually going to say goodbye to Steven R. McQueen as a series regular,” Plec says. “He’s growing up and moving on. He will be out living a real life.”
The catalyst for Jeremy’s story coming to a close springs from the show nearing its conclusion. “We’re in the third act of our storytelling of the show,” Plec says. “Everything that we’re doing is moving towards the end. Over the course of the next few years, we will need to start having the characters make choices about what they want with their lives and say goodbye to some people. It’s all part of moving toward the end, however long that takes.”

Still, there is a chance we could see him on the show again. “He could show up at weddings, funerals and series finales for sure, but this journey is taking him to another place.”

Gisteren heeft de CW acht van zijn series verlengd voor nog een seizoen! Hierbij is het dan officieel… The Vampire Diaries krijgt een seizoen 7 en The Originals een seizoen 3!

The CW has handed early renewals for the 2015-16 season to all eight of its current scripted series, in a show of confidence and a sign of its improving primetime fortunes.

Renewed are “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Reign,” “Supernatural,” “The 100,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals.”

“Each of these series have helped define what the CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy, adult audience,” said CW prexy Mark Pedowitz. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees the CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 lineups.”

Afgelopen week vonden de 2015 People’s Choice Awards in L.A. plaats, voor het eerst waren er hierbij geen castleden aanwezig. Wel wonnen Ian en Nina voor hun rollen als Elena en Damon de award voor Favoriete tv-duo.

Het plot voor aflevering 2×11 Brotherhood of the Damned van ‘The Originals’ is verschenen.

FAMILY IS WHO YOU FIGHT FOR — Armed with more power than ever, Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood) creates an elaborate spell that allows him to take the upper hand and trap his brothers Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Realizing that Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharman) is also in trouble, Davina (Danielle Campbell) has no choice but to team up with the Originals to help. After the deadly events in the previous episode, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) must try to calm his volatile pack of suffering vampires, while remembering his days as a solider during World War I when his leadership skills were equally brought to the test. Finally, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) finds herself conflicted when she learns that she and Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) must participate in extreme and unconventional rituals prior to their wedding, which will put them both in a dangerous position. Leah Pipes also stars.

THE MERGE — When Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) and Luke’s (guest star Chris Brochu) father arrives to town to celebrate their birthday, they try and convince him to let Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) and Kai (guest star Chris Wood) take their place in the merge ceremony. After Tyler (Michael Trevino) finds out that the merge is happening sooner than he expected, he urges Liv to let him talk to her father. Meanwhile, after Caroline’s (Candice Accola) plan to cure her mother takes an unexpected and devastating turn, Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) gather at the hospital, while Jo attempts to save Sheriff Forbes’ (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) life. Lastly, with the merge set to take place, Damon’s risky plan quickly sends things spiraling out of control, forcing one of the twins to take matters into their own hands.
