Paul en Phoebe hebben hun relatie na vier jaar verbroken en zijn niet langer samen, ze zouden nog wel goede vrienden zijn. Het stel leerde elkaar kennen op de set van ‘The Vampire Diaries’ in 2013 toen Phoebe een gastrol kreeg in de serie al Hayley.

It’s been a year of goodbyes for Paul Wesley.

E! News has exclusively learned that Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin have split after nearly four years of dating. Wesley, 34, and Tonkin, 27, met on the set of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries in 2012, and the actors began dating the following summer. Tonkin had a recurring role as Hayley Marshall in the show’s fourth season before her character joined The Originals spinoff in 2013.

Wesley and Tonkin were last seen in public together on Dec. 20, 2016, five days before they celebrated Christmas in her native Sydney, Australia. The actors, who often shared PDA photos on their respective Instagram accounts, stopped sharing images of each other around that time.

“They are still good friends,” a source tells E! News. “The relationship just ran its course.”

Claire heeft een rol gescoort in de nieuwe pilot serie ‘Doomsday’ van zender ABC.

Claire Holt (Aquarius) has been cast as the lead of ABC’s thriller drama pilot Doomsday, from producer Carol Mendelsohn and Sony TV.

Written by Mark Bianculli & VJ Boyd and directed by Joachim Ronning, Doomsday starts in the aftermath of 9/11, when the U.S. government institutes a secret think tank featuring the most creative minds in science and entertainment that is tasked with dreaming up man-made disaster scenarios and their possible solutions. Because the hypothetical ideas are deemed extremely dangerous, the list is sealed and the program shut down. But when a catastrophe occurs that’s ripped from the pages of the missing doomsday book, the team is brought back years later to prevent the disasters of their own making.

Holt will play Kayla, the newest member of the Doomsday project. Considered the best cyber security analyst in the country, she’s efficient, irreverent, and not particularly interested in making friends.

Australian-born Holt recurred on the CW’s The Vampire Diaries, subsequently transitioning to spinoff The Originals. She recently co-starred on NBC’s Aquarius. In features, Holt just wrapped the female lead in indie comedy The Divorce Party and can next be seen in the Weinstein Co.’s In The Deep. Holt repped by WME, Management 360 and Stone Genow Smelkinson.

Matt Donovan has somehow managed to do the impossible on The Vampire Diaries.

For eight seasons, he’s not only remained human, but he’s also remained alive. Sure, he died for a second or two a few times here and there and lost most of the people he ever cared about, but he never died permanently, and now he’s the town sheriff.

We feared he was about to meet his end multiple times over the course of the series, and yet Matt made it all the way to the finale, and possibly beyond. We asked Matt’s portrayer, Zach Roerig, for advice on how other humans could survive so long in supernatural worlds, and we thought maybe he’d say “stay inside.” He did not.

“You can’t be too afraid. You gotta be ready to jump into the fire and hope that your burns will heal, your wounds will heal,” he tells us in the video above. “That’s the only way you’re going to keep coming back.”

That was certainly not the advice we were expecting.

“If you test your limits, you might die, but you might not,” he says. “Matt’s superhero could be like, the Human Scab or something like that. He just keeps coming back.”

Something tells us that advice isn’t actually going to be all that helpful for anyone but Matt Donovan.

As for Matt’s fate in the finale, executive producer Julie Plec couldn’t tell us whether he lives or dies, but she did give us this statement to tide us over:

“I’m one of the biggest cheerleaders for Matt Donovan and happiness. I ship Matt Donovan with happiness, but there are plenty who don’t, so we’ll see who won when all is said and done.”
