Het is bekend geworden dat Claire Holt is gecast in de nieuwe NBC serie ‘Aquarius’. Deze zal uit 13 afleveringen bestaan waarin een undercover agent en zoek gaat naar een moordenaar en zijn volgenlingen in de jaren 60. Claire zal de rol van office Chairmain Tully op haar nemen, een mooie, vrouwelijk politieofficier die serieus wil worden genomen in de dominante mannenwereld van het politiekorps in L.A.

The Originals star has joined the cast of NBC’s new drama Aquarius as a series regular, E! News has learned.

Set in the ‘60s, Aquarius stars David Duchovny as an undercover cop tracking down infamous killer Charles Manson and his followers. Also set to star in the 13-episode series are Gaius Charles, Gethin Anthony and Grey Damon. Holt will play Office Chairmain Tully, a beautiful young female police officer who is trying to be taken seriously in the male-dominated world of the LAPD in 1967, no easy task.

Holt’s Vampire Diaries character Rebekah, the sole female sibling in the Original family of vampires, quickly became a fan favorite after her season three debut, along with onscreen brothers Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies, landing them their own spinoff series, The Originals.

But fans of the CW hit series were thrown for a major curveball when Holt exited the series in its first season, which she later explained was due to her desire to be back in Los Angeles (The Originals films in Atlanta). “This show has been so amazing for my career, and I’ve had such unbelievable material, it was just never my intention to be away from home this long,” she said in an interview with Buzzfeed.

Still, Holt’s new gig on Aquarius won’t stop Rebekah from making a quick visit to New Orleans in season two, as The Originals’ creator Julie Plec revealed that we’ll see Holt “at least once in the first three episodes” during the show’s panel at Comic-Con. And fans got a taste of Rebekah’s return in the trailer that was screened, featuring footage from the first three episodes with a fairy tale narration by Holt. And after her exit, Holt said, “I am simply looking at this as a temporary absence.”

The Vampire Diaries en The Originals hebben nu hun eigen instagram account waarop The CW o.a. exclusieve foto’s van de series zullen posten.

Danielle Campbell en Ian Somerhalder waren gisteren aanwezig op de 2014 Young Hollywood Awards in L.A. Hoewel Ian niet de rode loper op ging mocht hij wel de Best Threesome Award in ontvangst nemen.

Charles Michael Davis, Daniel Gillies, Danielle Campell, Joseph Morgan, Leah Pipes en Phoebe Tonkin waren aanwezig op de San Diego Comic-Con dit weekend om hun serie ‘The Originals’ te promoten, tijdens het panel was Paul Wesley backstage. Daniel Gillies vroeg de 4000+ fans om een verjaardagslied voor hem te zingen toen hij het podium op kwam. Daarnaast bezochten enkele castleden nog enkele andere events tijdens de conventie met Paul Wesley en Nina Dobrev.

Joseph Morgan is begin deze maand getrouwd met Persia White in Jamaica. Het stel leerde elkaar kennen op de set van ‘The Vampire Diaries’, en verloofde zich in mei van dit jaar.

The actor, who currently heads up the CW’s The Originals, wed his Vampire Diaries costar Persia White in an intimate ceremony in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on July 5.

“It had a very rustic feel to it,” White tells PEOPLE. “There was nothing about it that was overwhelming or very huge or fabulous in that way. We tried to keep everything really intimate and beautiful and sort of going along with nature.”

The bride wore a Vera Wang dress with a cathedral-length veil, while the groom sported an ivory-colored silk tux with black lapels by Miguel Wilson. “And then I had a bow tie,” adds Morgan. “In fact, the bow tie was the first bow tie I’ve ever tied myself, so I was quite proud of that.”

The couple, who met on the set of season 3 of The Vampire Diaries, exchanged vows in front of 26 guests at a private villa, within sight of where they got engaged.

“I think one of the reasons we picked it was because we love the ocean and we both grew up by the sea,” White says. “To be by the sea was wonderful. And the people of Jamaica are just wonderful.”

So, who made the exclusive guest list? “It was mostly family, a handful of close friends,” Morgan says. “My best man was my best friend of almost 20 years, Matt Ryan. He actually plays John Constantine on the new NBC show Constantine, but we’ve been friends since we were teenagers.”

The pair danced to Florence + the Machine’s “Never Let Me Go” for their first turn around the dance floor. But their favorite moment involved a band of Jamaican drummers.

“We had this great group called the Children of the Drums,” Morgan says. “It was six Jamaican drummers, and they got everybody up on the dance floor. At one point, all of our guests were on the dance floor, which is an achievement, I think.”

The food wasn’t too shabby, either, especially the cake, which was vegan – in keeping with the couple’s plant-based menu. “It was a triple-layer, chocolate on the inside and vanilla icing,” says White. “A beautiful, amazing cake.”

After helicoptering over to Negril for their honeymoon, the two relaxed by “partaking in the favorite local pastime – cliff jumping,” says Morgan. White adds: “That was what was more daunting than anything else. And we did it together, so we’re pretty proud of that.”

What’s next for the couple? Well, in addition to working on more film and TV projects together, they hope to start a family. Says White: “Little cute mini Josephs!”
