GUEST STAR CLAIRE HOLT RETURNS AS REBEKAH MIKAELSON — Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt), who has spent months away living a normal life with baby Hope, finds herself on the run when she realizes Esther (guest star Sonja Sohn) has uncovered her whereabouts. Paul Wesley zal ook dit seizoen weer een aflevering van ‘The Vampire Diaries’ gaan regiseren, het zal gaan op aflevering 11 Woke Up With a Monster. Deze zal in januari na de kerstbreak te zien zijn. Hij plaatste al de onderstaande foto op zijn instagram account.

New details have surfaced on Paul Wesley’s directorial return on The Vampire Diaries.

After Wesley posted a photo on Instagram on Oct. 28, with the cryptic tease “It’s that time of year again,” The Hollywood Reporter has learned the specifics of the season-six episode.

Wesley will put on the director’s hat for the 11th episode, titled “Woke Up With a Monster,” which is slated to air when The Vampire Diaries returns from a brief holiday hiatus in January 2015.

Back in April when THR spoke with Wesley about his directorial debut (season five’s “Resident Evil”), he explained
that directing has been of passion of his a while.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do ever since I started acting. I’ve always really respected directors. As much as I was interested in acting, whenever I watched a film it was always the directing that really stood out to me,” Wesley said at the time. “I always envisioned doing it at one point or another.”
Now he’ll get get his second shot.

A RESCUE IN THE NIGHT — When Alaric (Matt Davis) realizes that Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) can’t be compelled, he asks Elena (Nina Dobrev) to do some digging into her background. After learning that Enzo (Michael Malarkey) has been captured by Tripp, Caroline (Candice Accola) teams up with Matt and Stefan (Paul Wesley) to rescue him before Tripp learns their true identities. Armed with some new information about her past, Sarah (guest star Gabrielle Walsh) breaks into Tripp’s (guest star Colin Ferguson) office and is surprised when she finds Matt (Zach Roerig) there, doing some investigating of his own. Meanwhile, Elena is forced to deal with the consequences of her actions, and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) hits rock bottom, lashing out in a destructive way. Lastly, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is determined to take matters into his own hands when he receives some upsetting news.
