Claudia Black has landed the role of Dahlia, the powerful witch (and Mikaelson relative) who poses a great threat to baby Hope’s life.

Farscape’s Claudia Black has landed the role of the mysterious (and dangerous) witch Dahlia, the maternal aunt of the Mikaelson siblings, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

In The Originals lore, Dahlia helped her younger sister, Esther (the Mikaelson matriarch) with a fertility spell, but it came with a price — Dahlia wanted the first-born of every generation, and took Esther’s oldest daughter, Freya, as payment. And now that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has a child of his own — and that Freya (Riley Voelkel) has reunited with her family — baby Hope is in danger

Black — who is set to recur — will first appear in this season’s 16th episode.

The Originals boss Michael Narducci recently hinted to THR that the show would be digging into Freya’s relationship with Dahlia. “If Freya is still alive, that must mean that Dahlia is still out there,” he said. “And what’s the nature of their relationship? All of that is the stuff we want to play going forward.”
Black is represented by Creative Partners Group and SMS Talent.

The Originals airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on The CW.

De 9-delige documantaire serie ‘Years Of Living Dangerously’ waarin Ian samen met vele andere beroemdheden te zien is zal vanaf 1 maart om 21:00 uur te zien zijn op Discovery Channel.

Prominente klimaatambassadeurs onder wie Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jessica Alba en Matt Damon reizen naar de plekken op aarde waar de effecten van klimaatverandering direct zichtbaar zijn en spreken met de mensen die het proberen tegen te gaan. Van de ontbossing van Indonesië – ten bate van de lucratieve palmolie-industrie – die verantwoordelijk is voor schrikbarend veel CO2-uitstoot tot de extreme droogte in Syrië. En van de smeltende ijskappen in Groenland tot de steeds hevigere bosbranden in Californië. Het laat zien dat klimaatverandering geen hype of verzinsel is, maar een serieuze bedreiging voor onze planeet.

Chris Woods die dit seizoen te zien is als Kai in ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is gecast in de nieuwe CW pilot serie ‘Cordon’. De serie is gebaseerd op de gelijknamige Belgische tv-serie, waarbij een fictieve stad afgesloten wordt van de buitenwereld na een uitbraak van een besmettelijk virus. Chris zal te zien zijn in één van de hoofdrollen en de serie zal zich afspelen in Atlanta.

The CW, known to bring back previous players, has cast its first pilot for the 2015-16 cycle, Variety has learned.

Chris Wood, who had substantial arcs in both in Julie Plec’s “Vampire Diaries” and the CW’s “Carrie Diaries,” is set for the role of Jake, a former renegade turned cop, in Plec’s upcoming drama “Cordon.”

The series follows an epidemic that breaks out in Atlanta, leaving the large city quarantined and those stuck on the inside fighting for their lives. The drama tells the story of loved ones torn apart, and how the society that grows inside the cordon reveals both the devolution of humanity and the birth of unlikely heroes.

Jake (Wood) is among those trapped inside the cordon, and finds himself there to protect the ones who need him most, even though his first instinct is to save himself.

David Gyasi (“Interstellar”) will play Lex, Jake’s best friend. Also rounding out the cast are Christina Moses (“Starship: Rising,” “Starship: Apocalypse”) and Kristen Gutoskie (“Beaver Falls”), Variety has confirmed.

“Cordon” comes from “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” showrunner Plec, and is based on the original Belgian series created by Carl Joos for Eyeworks. David Nutter will direct the pilot and will exec produce with Plec, who penned the pilot. Eyeworks, My So-Called Company and Warner Bros. Television will produce.
